Here is a great way to usher in the New Year
Cox Memorial Whimper Wonderland Run
Wednesday, January 1, 2025….. Peter & Anne Tilbury
This year’s event will be different, so please read on.
The Run will start, as in previous years, from the Chevron Station at 176th Street (Hwy 15) and 8th Avenue, South Surrey.
Please gather around 10.30 am for an 11.00 am start.
The Run will be about 35 miles (54 kms) long and take just over an hour.
The finish for lunch will be, as before, at Jimy Mac’s Pub in Langley Township.
You must pre-register for the 2025 CMWWR.
Please email Peter and Anne Tilbury (patilbury@shaw.ca) giving your car details, your cell phone, and indicating how many people will be having lunch.
For the first time, we are limiting the event to 35 cars or 70 people maximum. Registrations will be on a first come, first served basis
This has become necessary because last year’s participation far exceeded previous years, with 57 cars and 92 people, many of whom had not pre-registered. As a result, the Pub was overwhelmed. Additional entries will be accepted but lunch with the group may not be available. There will be the usual trivia quiz with prizes during lunch. There will also be a prize for the most attention-grabbing head gear at the start, chosen by the organizers.
This event was started by Tony Cox and his wife, Judy, who were members of CCMGC. Tony was also a member of the Old English Car Club (OECC), and the Langley Mostly British Club (LAMB). Members of these Clubs will be invited to join us, along with members of the Vancouver Mini Club. Tony Cox passed away a few years ago, and Judy passed in 2023. Sadly, we have to report that their daughter, Alison, passed early this year. Registrations will be on a first come, first served basis
