What is the Specialty Vehicle Association of BC? SVABC is not a Car Club it is an Action group We are an Association of like-minded people dedicated to the
preservation and promotion of the Collector Vehicle Hobby. 42 plus years as a voice for Vehicle Enthusiasts and Car Clubs of BC The dues cover basic expenses, as all our Executive and Regional
Representatives are volunteers. Preservation of the benefits of the Collector Plate Program. Represent all vehicle types, original or modified cars, trucks and motorcycles SVA is your voice with Gov’t Agencies, ICBC, Motor Vehicles, Inspection
Standards, etc.
Most Importantly: Our commitment is to represent you, our members, in dealing with
Government, to preserve and promote the hobby.
SVABC Major Goals & Successes
1978 Dedicated Group starts the journey for a specialty plate for all Vintage, Stock &
Custom Cars.
1980 Registered as a Society.
1990 Collector program (stock) announced
2000 Modified Collector 1948 and prior
2006 Modified Collector 1958 and prior
2015 Registration of Collector age vehicles prior to inspection.
2017 Modified Collector 1974 and prior
2017 Including Replicas 1942 and prior
2020 June Registration Issue, re passing of Spouse, removal without penalty.
2021-22 Working on adding a spouse to registration without penalty
Assisting members with ICBC’s Collector Plate Program. Many additions to
acceptable equipment and accessories
This does not include the SVABC, on a regular basis, assisting our members by
responding to their questions/concerns or assisting them in dealing in general with
ICBC’s Collector Plate Program.
Assist in the registration of vehicle under restoration.

a list of directors, reports, and photo galley with a ton of pictures. We do appreciate your input
so please do submit pictures of your events, of course a brief description would be great.
