This message is being sent to all 2024 Coastal Swap Meet vendors who may
have wanted to return for the 2025 meet
For a number of reasons the Coastal Swap Meet Committee made, at its
Annual general meeting held on September 29, 2024, the difficult
decision to cancel the Coastal Swap Meet effective immediately. These
reasons include but are not limited to the withdrawal of 2 of the 3
sponsoring clubs, namely the BCHRA and PISRA, the difficulty in
negotiating a cost-effective contract with the current operators of the
Tradex facility, the aging demographics of our many volunteers and the
difficulty in securing enough volunteers to host the event. This has
been a very difficult decision to come to as the Coastal Swap Meet has
been held every year starting in 1969, except for the 2 years postponed
due to COVID, a total of 53 swap meets!
Over the many years we worked hard at trying to provide the best venue
we could for our many loyal vendors, yourself included, as we truly
believed what we were doing was to provide a service to the hobby we all
enjoyed. We thank you for your past support.
But as is often said “All good things must come to an end!” and the time
has come for the Coastal Swap Meet to come to an end.
Thanks again for your support.
Your truly,
—
Bill Trant,
Coastal Swap Meet Committee
